Nina Sukhovetskaya - Modern Artist
Nina Sukhovetskaya was born in 1982 in Moscow in the family of distinguished russian painters.
She is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists and member of The Artist Union of Russia.
Ms. Sukhovetskaya has a private studio in Moscow and her works are in private collections throughout Russia, USA, Europe, China, Jordan, Serbia, Montenegro, as well as in the collection of the State Museum of Gamzigrad (Serbia).
For the last 10 years the main theme of the work is the urbanistic landscape, inspired by such megapolis's as Moscow and New York. The main interest in the paintings is to convey the aesthetics and beauty of NYC through the eyes of the Russian artist, in the tradition of the Moscow School of Painting. Many of the works have already been presented at Russian and foreign exhibitions, as well as published in the leading catalogues on contemporary art in Russia. The artist continues to work on the development of this theme in new works. A special interest today is the clash of modern architecture forms with monuments of historical heritage of the city.
Ms. Sukhovetskaya also takes on a role of curator and organizer of shows for groups of distinguished young artists of her generation such as the 10th All-Russia Exhibition "Young Artists of Russia 2007", "Homeland", the anniversary exhibition "75 years Artists’ Guild ", as well as exhibitions of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Since 2001 Nina regularly takes part in the annual exhibitions curated by both Moscow’s and Russia’s Unions of Artists.
She is an active participant in Moscow cultural life crafting relevant personal and group exhibition projects and represents a modern Moscow school of painting abroad.
Nowadays she lives and works in NYC.
Nina Sukhovetskaya participates in annual en plain-airs in Russia and other countries among which are: USA, China, Italy, France,Sweden, Montenegro, Serbia, Jordan, Tunisia and Egypt.
In 2014 Nina was invited to take a part in International Art Program in Cité Des Arts in Paris whereby she was given a studio in Paris for two month March-April.
In 2014 Nina was bestowed upon an honor of the title of a Fellow Cultural Ambassador underwriten by Russian Ministry of Culture.
In 2012 Nina was awarded the diploma of second degree XXXII Youth Exhibition of Moscow Artists Union of Russia for her works "Night Lights" and "Above the city." (oil on canvas)
Since 2011 Ms. Sukhovetskaya takes part in the exhibition project "Ivan-tea", which was created by the Fund named "Red Corner". (Grant established by the President Dmitry Medvedev "to support the creative projects of national importance in the field of culture and art" of 24.03.2011 No.180). These are series of exhibitions in the museum's exhibition spaces in the Russian Federation.
In 2009 Ms. Sukhovetskaya's works were exhibited by Friendship Force in Chicago’s "Slayter Gallery", where she held several master classes including those in "Gallery 37". She had several shows in Des Moines, Iowa as well as master classes at the University of Des Moines.
In 2008 Nina was presented by Friendship Force in Atlanta, where her work was shown at the gallery "The Decatur Market & Gallery" and awarded the diploma of Art Institute of Atlanta (The Art Institute of Atlanta - Decatur) and Friendship Force International.
By 2007 Ms. Sukhovetskaya became a Fellow Russian Ministry of Culture and received the Medal of the Moscow Artists' Union "For merits in the development of fine art". She garnered another prestigious award as a winner of the art contest "Spring hopes - 2007" for the paintings displayed at that exhibition.
In 2006 Nina graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.Surikov with Master degree with her thesis as series of paintings titled "In the Holy Land". Nina’s talent and dedication allowed her to be recognized in the Russian Art World, and she became a member of the Moscow Union of Artists and the Artists Union of Russia in the same year.
